Swine Flu Infects More Than 8400 |

 Geneva, May 16: The World Health Organisation has raised its tally of confirmed human cases of swine flu to 8,451 in 36 countries, including more than 72 deaths. It also said the United States has reported 4,714 laboratory-confirmed cases, including four deaths.The authorities in US have closed down schools in the cities in the wake of Swine flue outbreak. Mexico reported 2,895 cases and 66 deaths. Turkey reported the country's first case of swine flu on Saturday. A Japanese student who has not been abroad recently has tested positive for swine flu in an initial examination, the first suspected domestic infection of the virus, the government said on Saturday. However, the Britain's foreign office said on Friday that travelling to Mexico was now safe as the number of reported new cases of swine flu in Mexico were declining. -AFP,AP |
